These are slippers of the Vietnamese. Sea-grass slippers are typical Vietnamese products. These days practically every young lady respecting herself has a pair, but very few people can brag that they have these slippers especially from Vietnam!
Pith or cork helmets are traditional accessories also. If someone would purchase it in Nha Trang in the market, it is possible to bargain for 5-8 thousand dongs for a simple hat and from 25-45 thousand dongs for an embroidered one.
In general in Vietnamese a hat is called "Non". There are many different kinds of hats. For example Vietnamese Northern Hats, Non Quai Thao and Non La are very beautiful and charming. The conical hat known as Non La is still very popular in Vietnam.
Clothing is cheap in Vietnam, so if you wish to bring something useful it is possible to find good quality inexpensive jackets and other items of clothing.
There is amazing silk. Vietnam is famous for silk of very high quality and not just for spinning ropes. You can find silk bedclothes, dresses, handbags or even pictures that are embroidered on silk. It looks beautifully and is very pleasant to the touch.

Silver can be bought in the street nearby Nguyen Thien Thuat for $6-8 for a pair of rings.
There are charming pearls also. The best shop offering pearls is located in Nha Trang near Cham towers. The complex of Po Nagar Cham towers known locally as Thap Ba, is one of the most-visited sites in the central town of Nha Trang. For example you can buy high quality pearls for $5-7,.
There is a large variety of natural stone such as carpentry stones tiger's-eye (not only brown which is widespread in Russia, but green, yellow and pink also), onyx, turquoise etc.
Very beautiful pictures made of gemstones would make a remarkable presentation.
In Nha Trang a shop of accessories made of crocodile skin is located in the central street. A purse that costs $150 in Hanoi can be found here for $50.
Souvenirs made of mahogany and bamboo and other bamboo products would be lovely to give to friends as a keepsake.
Lacquer art and varnish products are famous ancient trades of Vietnam.
Masks are made very skilfully and also portray typical features of the Vietnamese face.
Very beautiful pictures made of gemstones, cockleshells and mother of pearl or embroidered by hand with a silk filament can be kept as wonderful reminder of the country.
There are elegant products made of ceramics and rattan.

Preparations of eastern medicine
There are useful preparations of eastern medicine including Chinese, Korean and of course Vietnamese itself.
An exotic souvenir, that it is claimed is effective against all kinds of health hezards, is a bottle of local vodka with an alcoholised snake that cosily coils itself at the bottom of a container. One thousand dongs for such gift it is not excessive.
Tea and coffee
Tea and especially coffee which both grow in Da Lat are very fragrant. There is a large variety of different mixes. The coffee, which is brewed by passing through special metal filters is especially of interest and tourists are advised to take a pack of coffee and filters as a souvenir.
